To get started, tell me about yourself + your blog: 

My name is Chelsea Martinez and I am from Forest City, North Carolina. I am currently a college student at the Ai of Charlotte and I am working on my BA in Fashion Marketing and Merchandising. Opening my eyes to the fashion scene, I see how culture influences fashion and how I am a walking reflection of what inspires me, and that is how I came up with my blog, The Reflection of Chelsea. 

What is your goal in the fashion industry? 

Within the next years, I want to have a mark in fashion, whether it is for one person, or for one million people. My goal is to experience as much as I can in many aspects within the fashion world, whether that be in visual merchandising, fashion shows/event planning, or even apart of a magazine editorial team. I think it is a wonderful opportunity to be majoring in such a broad industry. I have learned that I can be who I want, where I want, and when I want to be it. 

What influences + inspires you? 

I am inspired by other women’s styles, desires, and lives. I am also inspired by my own culture. I have both American and Mexican backgrounds. My father was born and raised in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, and my mom was born, raised, and still resides in North Carolina, as so am I. Roots are really important. Someone once told me,

"In order to get to where you are going, you have to know where you from. Find you." 

I think that is where you have to start to figure out who you are as an individual and what makes you unique and special. And growing from each experience and opportunity <whether negative or positive> makes you, you!
