what i'm currently working on // fashion styling

"She wants to break free from tradition. A woman who has been constrained by her cultural foundation but craves self- expression and freedom. Striving for self-identity, she emerges her mind to release into her own reverie."

for fashion styling, i'm in a group of three, so Amber, Emily, and I are working on a photo shoot from concept to creation.
everything from professional hair + mua, photographer, location, etc. to start building the concept, we created a moodboard that shows our inspiration and a concept statement.

The concept that is envisioned is a woman from the middle east that has roots in her culture, but trying to embody the American culture as well. Current designers are getting their fabrics, patterns, designs and inspiration from these cultures. The intricate details,  bright-saturated colors, and embellishments are not only seen in the streets of Turkey or in the marketplace of Morocco, but in high fashion runways. We are inspired by modern feminism that takes place in Middle Eastern countries. Some women are restricted in their freedom, however there are some that are going against the norm and finding their places as women within their own society.  Today, women have more free reign on their overall appearance, especially in America. We want to show the contrast of the cultures and the women.
