my muse // all black everything

my favorite color: black
why, some ask?
because it goes through every season.
slims any silhouette.
easy to coordinate with different pieces.
here is a variety of pieces from jewelry to shoes,
and an outfit styled with layers of
of blacks + grays to break up the pieces.

my muse // simple angles

triangles are a sacred shape.
they aren't romantic like circles, or ordinary like squares.
they are simple and sharp.
these simple angles are my muse/

the highlight:
i have found this black onyx ring,
and yes it may be $325,
but it looks well worth every penny.
It has a dark, yet elegant style.
It is said to be a reflection of grief and stress,
which we can relate to at some point/

my muses range from pure happiness,
pure schizophrenia and pure relationships//

my muse // creativity takes courage

some people may see
only the black and white,
but sometimes we are forced
to see the grey areas.

inspired by: collage layouts, glassy textures,
marble, latex leather, indie music,
 geometric/triangular shapes...

embrace the diversity + creativity
that surrounds you. because it's what
makes us different from each other.
we all think different.
we all create different.
creativity takes courage //

my muse // winter whites

winter whites-- chelsea martinez

hello december,
you inspire me.

you inspire me to be thankful
for the ups and downs of the year
that is passing me by;
saying hello and then saying goodbye.

you inspire me to look forward
to the year to come.
you tell me that i am progressing
and failing at the same time.

before long, i'll be saying
goodbye december,
you inspired me.

méxico lindo

\\ my muse //

mexican inspiration lingers in my heart today.
the textures, embroidery, and colors
are rich, happy, and beautiful.

my abuelito, who is 86, still resides in the streets of
san francisco, san luis potosi.
my dad goes frequently to take care of him,
 and is there now,
so i constantly have thoughts of the hot
mexican sun and the orange rudy dirt.
i miss it so much.

my sweet vale is taking me to visit
a whole new part of mexico i've never seen, guanajuato.
his hometown, where he was born and raised until he was nine years old. so, let's just say i'm beyond excited to not only be in the place i love, but to meet all of his family.

the older i get the more in love with mexico i become.
i even tell valentin that one day, i want to live there for a year or two and explore our culture
and make memories and adventures to tell. //

more muses // fashion styling

oh monday, july 14.
not only does it mark another anniversary for me and vale, it also marks the first day of a new quarter.

i can't believe that it is already my 9th quarter there (there is only 12 for the bachelor's degree)!
not to mention, i am extremely excited about this quarter.
for one, i have fashion styling. even though classes have not started, i did create a mood board for what editorial i have in mind.

as you seen from my post yesterday, raw and bare, i am still hooked on the black and white idea.

layout inspiration// the clean use of space, minimal design, clean text, and i even want to expand my skills with applying a picture or texture within a picture(the last picture labeled wayfare). i am in love with the watercolor font that looks handwritten also.

styling inspiration// the second picture is my styling inspiration. the braided messy hair, with the chunky knit combined with the gauzy, bare dress. a model that i have used before even resembles this one, same complexion, hair texture and length, and even body type.

raw and bare

// my muse //

lately, i have been obsessed with black and white,
circles, lower case letters.
there is something about how b&w makes everything look
pure and like it is in it's raw and bare form.
the color of skin and the lights in the middle of the street. mysterious. timeless. like an optical illusion.
